Kinesiology

PKP Kinesiology recognizes that when you are in balance on all levels – emotional, chemical, structural, and energetic, this allows health and healing to occur.  It draws in a combination of Eastern wisdom and Western science to help detect and correct imbalances that are impacting the individual’s well-being. Through the use of muscle testing, Kinesiology can get to the root cause of an imbalance and find the emotions behind the imbalance, allowing the energy to be unblocked using a wide array of techniques. We look at current, past, and future events to release the stress in the body specific to the goal the client is working through.

As a Professional Kinesiology Practitioner, my clinical practice is grounded in the study of anatomy and physiology, combined with the Eastern philosophy of energy flows which in turn reflect the body’s overall state of structural, chemical, and emotional balance.  By looking at the issues and how they are affecting and being presented in the body as a whole, rather than in isolation we can look for and rebalance the stressors at the cause rather than treat the symptoms.

In a Kinesiology session you’ll be invited to lie down on the massage table for use of muscle testing to uncover the root cause of problems, this type of therapy involves elements of talk therapy where you will be actively participating in your healing.

Reiki

Reiki is a natural form of therapy that uses non-invasive gentle touch with the intention of guiding the flow of healthy energy through the clients body, reducing stress promoting healing. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means “mysterious, transcendental spirit” and Ki which is "life force energy". Reiki acts to clear and release any stagnant, negative, emotional, or mental energy that is being stored in our body.

In a Reiki session, you will be invited to lie on the massage table comfortably with your eyes closed, enjoying the time to relax whilst you receive Reiki.

Yoga

Yoga is a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science, which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. It is an art and science of healthy living. The word 'Yoga' is derived from the Sanskrit root 'Yuj', meaning 'to join' or 'to yoke' or 'to unite'. Yoga connects the body, breath, and mind using physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve overall health, a practice developed thousands of years ago. Yoga is for every type of body as a profound spiritual practice, which I love to guide others through.

1:1 Yoga -

Practicing in 1:1 yoga enables me to guide you through poses, giving individualised feedback in any type of yoga modality listed below and allows me to create a flow specifically for you and your needs.

Small group classes -

Whilst yoga is essentially a process of self-realisation and discovering the true nature of things, not technically a group activity. It is lovely to connect in a space with like-minded souls. Alison runs 45-minute and 60-minute classes.

Yin Yoga -

Yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, and joints. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Because you’re holding poses for a longer period of time than you would in other traditional types of yoga, yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts.

Restorative Yoga -

Restorative yoga is suitable for all levels. By definition, restorative yoga is a restful practice that holds yoga poses (asanas) for a longer duration using props like yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters. It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga (the union of body and mind). Through the use of props for support, many of the postures are held almost effortlessly.

Chair Yoga -

The objective of Chair Yoga is to support and encourage each student so that they may receive the healing benefits of a yoga practice. Any asana practiced on the mat, can be adapted to a chair or wheelchair, as the chair becomes an extension of the body. Beneficial for every body, ideal if have an injury, chronic health condition, as you may be unable to get to the mat, this allows you to still practice, allowing you to return to your mat classes. Students are guided throughout their practice, and modifications are provided.

Alison offers this service to office workers also. Enquire for further information about this beneficial practice for your staff.
